Presented to the Board of Commissioners AND PASSED IEE, 61974 ROLL CALL VOTING Aye Nay Salt Lake City,Utah, February 6 19 74 Mr.Chairman ✓ I move that t e Resolution he adopte Greener / Harmsen ✓ r Harrison (, (I., i.,'..//(, . .. ,- r., y Phillips ���/// J RESOLUTION Result //RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE WHEREAS, Edwin Whitney departed this life on February 2, 1974; and WHEREAS, he was, at the time of his death, the real estate manager and senior vice president of Hogle Investment Company; and WHEREAS, he was dedicated to the service of the residents of Salt Lake City and devoted his life to the service of his community; and WHEREAS, he was, at the time of his death, the Chairman of the Salt Lake City Board of Adjustment; and WHEREAS, during his lifetime, he was active in other civic affairs, being a member of the boards of directors of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors and the Apartment House Owners Association, president of the Institute of Real Estate Management, National Association of Real Estate Boards, president of the Building Owners and Managers Association, and member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, Salt Lake Rotary Club and the Fort Douglas Hidden Valley Country Club; and WHEREAS, Mr. Whitney was respected, admired and well-liked by all who knew him; and WHEREAS, in his passing, Salt Lake City has lost one of its most loyal and respected citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express on its own behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Salt Lake City, its profound grief and expresses its most sincere sympathy to Pearl Whitney, the wife of Edwin Whitney, to Edward J. Whitney, his son, and other survivors for the great personal loss which they have sustained. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be delivered to Pearl Whitney as an expression of our sympathy and deep feeling of loss.
