RESOLUTIONgy
WHEREAS, the U. S. Corps of Engineers have completed the
advance planning for the proposed Little Dell Lake Project and
need Congressional approval for funding to complete the design
and construction of this project; and
WHEREAS, this proposed Little Dell Lake Project will assist
Salt Lake County in its Flood Control Program by controlling
flood waters from Parley's Canyon; and
WHEREAS, during the 1980's water demand in Salt Lake County
will exceed the presently developed water supply because of
delays in the Central Utah Project, it is urgent that an
additional water supply for the Metropolitan Water District of
Salt Lake City be made available by the development of the
proposed Little Dell Lake Project; and
WHEREAS, additional nearby recreational facilities will
be developed for the residents of Salt Lake County by the
construction of the proposed Little Dell Lake Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City
Council of Salt Lake City that they hereby express on behalf
of the City and its residents their full support for the
completion of the proposed Little Dell Lake Project and that
they hereby urge Congress to provide the necessary funding to
ensure the construction of this project.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
27th day of January , 1981 .
