BE IT A.ESOI:VI•:D by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City: That the public interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City to order the fulloc:ing improvement to be made in said City, namely: That there shell be established in said City under the author- ity and provisions of Chapter 96 of the Laws of Utah of 1�-1b, a lighting district to be known es Lighting District No. One, which shell comprise the following streets: The south side of South Temple Street between West Temple Street and Gain -Street, both sides of South Temple Street between Nein Street and State Street, both sides of State Street between Sou::.;; Temple Street and Fourth South Street, both sides of First Sou'h Street between West Temple Street and Second Fast Street, both sides of Second South Street between Vest Temple Street and Second East Street, both sides of Third South Street between ':test Tesiule Street end Second East Street, <.nd both sides of Fourth South Street between ,lest Temple Street end train Street; and the lots, ,,ieces sad subdivisions of ;:round fronting and abutting on said streets within said limits shall be assessed according to the benefits received from said improvement to pay the costs and expenses thereof; the said Lighting District shall be improved by the erection and maintenance of seven four-ampere luminous arc lamps along each side of said streets in each block in said district on appropriate standards, said standards to be about 110 feet apart, and said lamps, about 204 in number, to be supplied ,eith electric current for the !t.mot cif p/ illumination of the same all night every night under e schedule of heron appropriate to the seasons. The circuits for the operation of the said system of lamps shall be partly underground and partly overhead. A part of the cost and expense of making the said improvement and of maintain- ing the same, amounting to arproximately ,l65.05 wer year, shell be raid from the genera]_ fund of Salt Lake City. The said improvement shall be maintained for the period of three years. The said proposed improvement is hereby referred to the City Engineer of Salt Lake City, and he is hereby directed to make and file with the City Recorder a report in writing containing the follo•':ing particulars: 1. Plans and specifications for the ork required for said im- provement. 2. An estimate of the cost of said improvement and of the incidental expenses in connection therewith. 3. A diagram showing the said proposed improvement district and the boundaries and dimensions of the respective lots, narcels Gr subdivisions of land therein, each of which sibdivisions shall he riven a, separate number in red ink upon sand diagram. 4. A proposed assess .ent of the total amount of the costs ar_d ee penses of the nroposed improvement upon the several subdivisions of land in said district in prnnortion to the estimated benefit to he received by such subdivisions, respectively, from said improvement, first deduct- ing from such total estimated cost and expenses of said improvement, the stun approximately $3,165.00 er year, to be x,aid and borne by the City of Salt Lake.
