Result
WHEREAS, J. Howard Telford was appointed an employee in the
Salt Lake City Water Department on March 15, 1937; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Telford has served since that date for 42 years,
rising to the position of Administrative Engineer, and during that
time has been a faithful, conscientious, efficient and honest
employee of the Water Department who has earned the respect and
admiration of his colleagues and public with whom he has dealt; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his work for the Salt Lake City Water
Department, Mr. Telford has served with distinction on many
committees to advise the Board of City Commissioners on insurance
and other matters involving the welfare of its employees; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Corporation, its employees and the
residents of the City of Salt Lake owe Mr. Telford a debt of
gratitude; and
WHEREAS, the City will miss Mr. Telford's advice and expertise
in the Water Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, that the Board does hereby express to J. Howard
Telford, for itself and the residents of Salt Lake City, its
sincere appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable
services; for his untiring effort and passed service given to Salt
Lake City and its inhabitants. The Board further wishes him well
in all pursuits as he now leaves an employment with Salt Lake City
and hopes that he will derive satisfaction in his retirement from
knowing he has played an important role in the development and
operation of the Water Department and its service to the public.
