WHEREAS, Dr. A. Ray Olpin has been chairman of the civic
committee "People to People Program" since August, 1963; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Olpin has submitted his resignation as
chairman of said committee; and
WHEREAS, he has faithfully and enthusiastically served in
said position, bringing to Salt Lake City numerous displays and
exhibits depicting the life and culture of the people of the Far East
and has been responsible for the visit of officials of Salt Lake City
to our sister cities of Matsumoto, Japan, and Kuezon, Philippines.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the board of commissioners
of Salt Lake City, Utah, that this board, on behalf of the citizens
of Salt Lake City, does hereby express its appreciation to Dr. Olpin
for his faithful public service and his unceasing dedication to
education and to the fostering of better understanding between the
peoples of the world.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy
of this Resolution to Dr. Olpin.

Utah, this 15th day of December, 1970.
