TVNC3. CHAIRMAN Q. CLARENCE NESLEN. 6ECRETARv EI.aWARO M. ASHTON ROBERT N. CAM RRELL A. RICHTER SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH.__ 10 191 Hon. Geo, D. Keyser, City Commissioner, Salt Lake City, Utah, Dear Your recent communication, addressed to the Salt Lake Real Estate Association concerning the value of two pieces of property on the west side, was read to the association, and was referred by the association to a non-interested committee of three for their findings, The committee visited the properties; We went over the situation very carefully one afternoon of this week, and beg to report to you that the price on the larger piece of twenty-one acres adjoining Jordon River was considered by us very low. We feel that no company nor individual would be able to purchase this twenty-one acres for double the price asked. The persons offering the land for sale to the city must expect to become the beneficiaries in some other way, They are certainly not asking what the property is actually worth, and the committee also felt that the y property was ideally adapted for park purposes, and that beautiful landscapeing could be done, Concerning the 4* acres, known as Langton Park, we feel that the price asked, namely $12,000, was perhaps consistent, as the property is closer in than the other, but at this figure the purchase would not be half the, bargain from a realestate standpoint as the Jordon River property. Although you did not ask us for comments still we wish to congratulate the city on its policy of making more parks and play grounds, It is what our city has needed for many years past. If in the future we can assist you gentlemen in building up a greater and better Salt Lake we are always at your service, Yours respectfully, CCN/143 ' SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION GEO. D.
