WHEREAS, Salt Lake City through much time, training and conscien-
tious effort has developed one of the finest paramedic programs in
the country; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to extend the scope and effectiveness of
the paramedic program, the Salt Lake City Fire Department has initiated
a Citizen Emergency Response Training program referred to as PARA-MED;
and
WHEREAS, through this program the Fire Department's goal is to
train 50% of the people who live and work in Salt Lake City to be
able to keep the victims of heart attacks and accidents alive until
emergency help arrives; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Daryl G. Walbeck and the Utah Association of Life
Underwriters have taken a great interest in this program and are seek-
ing to aid and assist Salt Lake City to insure the success of the
PARA-MED program through the contribution of their time, manhours and
resources.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City that it does wholeheartedly endorse the Citizen Emergency
Response Training Program and commends Mr. Daryl G. Walbeck and the
Utah Association of Life Underwriters for their time, resources and
support which they are contributing to develop and insure the success
of this program and which will establish in Salt Lake City the finest
emergency medical system in the County.
Passed by this Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 28th day of September, 1976.
