The Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City and the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake County hereby jointly resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the parties hereto recognize a need for modification
of existing statutes to provide for additional legislative grants
of authority defining county and city taxing authority, and ser-
vices delivery,
NOW,THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that the parties hereto
agree to jointly seek legislation to be drafted and agreed upon
prior to the 1977 Utah Legislative Session, and to fully cooperate
and support such legislation for the following purposes:
1. To define the roles of the respective entities.
2. To require proceedings leading to the adoption of plans
for urban service delivery together with fair and equitable
financing for such services.
3. To provide for cities to exclusively supply urban muni-
cipal service or for additional options for county governments to
meet the needs of citizens county-wide.
4. To provide definite time limitations on proceedings
and the adoption of service delivery plans.
