Greener ✓ �� Hogensen ✓ r Phillips aty, ' REST N Result l2 WHEREAS, on Wednesday, October 13, 1976, at 7:30 p.m., the Utah Transportation Commission is conducting a hearing to consider the elimination of a mid-block crosswalk on State Street between South Temple and First South Streets; and WHEREAS, the Board of City Commissioners is opposed to the elimination of such crosswalk and crosswalk marking due to the large amount of pedestrian activity in that area; and WHEREAS, the elimination of a crosswalk marking in the area in question would, due to the amount of pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the area, the design of the sidewalk and roadway in question and the nature of the district involved, in the opinion of the Board of City Commissioners, create a danger to the inhabi- tants of Salt Lake City; NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY does hereby express its disapproval of the proposed elimination of a crosswalk and crosswalk marking at the above specified location and requests the Utah Transportation Commission to deny any request which would result in the elimination of such pedestrian protection device.
