Result
// OF CONDOLENCE
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City, Utah, and the State of Utah have lost a
great citizen with the passing away of Harold P. Fabian; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Harold P. Fabian was a devoted outdoorsman and con-
servationist interested in preserving the beauties of nature for the
benefit of all citizens; and
WHEREAS, his lifelong love for Salt Lake City and the State of
Utah, and the United States of America served the City, State and
Country well from the date of his birth on April 1, 1885, in Salt Lake
City until his death December 6, 1975; and
WHEREAS, he was one of the proponents of the establishment of the
Teton National Park and a moving force behind the formation of the
park; and
WHEREAS, in 1957 he helped organize and create the Utah State
Park and Recreation Commission; and
WHEREAS, in 1957 he helped make a study of the old prison site at
Sugarhouse and recommended the formation of the Sugarhouse Park
Authority; and
WHEREAS, the said Sugarhouse Park Authority came into existence;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fabian served as President of the Sugarhouse Park
Authority from the time of its creation until his death; and
WHEREAS, his accomplishments are so numerous to be impossible to
list; and
WHEREAS, he freely gave of his time without thought of receiving
recognition for his efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Commissioners, on behalf of them-
selves and the residents of Salt Lake City, hereby extend their con-
dolences to the family of Mr. Harold P. Fabian in the loss of their loved
one and the loss of one loved by his fellowmen as a true public spirited
citizen who contributed greatly to the development of this nation, and
the State of Utah, and the City of Salt Lake.
