WHEREAS, Orson Whitney has been employed in the Street Depart-
ment of Salt Lake City for a period of 34 years; and
WHEREAS, during all of his long tenure of employment with Salt
Lake City he has served faithfully and well and could always be
relied upon to discharge whatever duty was assigned him with ability
and thoroughness and so has rendered valuable and faithful service
to Salt Lake City and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, he has now voluntarily retired from his employment with
Salt Lake City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAME CITY, UTAH, that it does hereby express to Orson Whitney
sincere and deep appreciation and gratitude for his long and faithful
service to Salt Lake City and its citizens. Said Board further expresses
its best wishes that he will have continuing good health and will find
enjoyment and satisfaction during his days of retirement.
The City Recorder is hereby directed to deliver a copy of this
resolution to Mr. Whitney.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 23rd day of March, 1966.
