WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the public interest that a house with
historical value, the Thomas Quayle Home (which is on the State Register
of Historical Sites) , be moved from its present location where it would
otherwise be demolished, to be preserved at a new location; and
WHEREAS, the location of said building is best suited on the following
described premises, as has been determined by the Board of City Commission-
ers; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition of
the parcel of real property hereinafter described for the relocation and
preservation of said historic house.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT
LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That it is necessary and in the public interest of Salt Lake City and
its inhabitants that the City, for the use of the public, obtain the follow-
ing described property for the installation and preservation of an historic
house with historical value upon property which is located at 355 Quince
Street which is within the corporate limits of Salt Lake City;
That said land hereinafter described, and the whole thereof is hereby
determined to be necessary for said improvements as hereinabove described;
That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are, authorized
to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law Department of Salt
Lake City, to acquire thereby all the land hereinafter described for the
relocation and preservation of said historical house, as hereinabove set
forth.
The parcel of land hereby authorized to be acquired by condemnation
proceedings in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the State of
Utah, relating to eminent domain, is situated in the County of Salt Lake,
State of Utah, and is more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Lot 4, Block 113, Plat
"A", Salt Lake City Survey, and running thence West 10 rods; ,
thence South 5 rods; thence East 0 rods; thence North 5
rods to the point of BEGINNING.
