Result RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Salt bake City has entered into a contract with J. W.
Mellen for the paving of Beck Street from the end of the present
pavement on Second "lest Street to the north city limits; and
WHEREAS, The said J. W. Mellen has executed and delivered to
Salt Lake City a bond in the sum of 413,000.00 for the faithful
performance of said contract, in which bond the Guardian Casualty
and Guaranty Company of Salt Lake City is the surety; and
WHEREAS, The said J. W. Mellen is about to enter into a contract
with the State Road Commission of the State of Utah for the same
work provided for in the contract with Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, The said State Road Commission has demanded of the
said J. W. Mellen a bond in the sum of 4'1,000.00, containing the
same provisions and conditions as the 013,000.00 bond above
mentioned; and
WHEREAS, The said Guardian Casualty and Guaranty Company is
willing that the 013,000.00 bond above mentioned shall apply to the
contract so to be made between the said Mellen and said State Road
Commission if Salt Lake City will consent that such action be taken;
and
WHEREAS, An agreement to said effect has been entered into
between the Guardian Casualty and Guaranty Company and the State
Road Commission:

HOE THEREFORE, Be it resolved, That the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City hereby consents that the bond executed by the
said Guardian Casualty and Guaranty Company as surety, tolyit,
upon the contract of J..W. .Mellen, shall cover and be applicable
^to the contract entered,into by J. W. Mellen with the State Road
