RESOLUTION
Result
WHEREAS, it is necessary to obtain additional property for the
expansion of the Salt Lake City International Airport; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and necessity require the acquisition
of the parcel of real property hereinafter described to expand said
Airport for the convenience and necessity of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
That it is necessary and in the public interest of Salt Lake
City, and its inhabitants, that the City, for the use of the public,
acquire the below described property for expansion and additional
construction of the Salt Lake City International Airport;
That said land hereinafter described, and the whol thereof, is
hereby determined to be necessary for said improvements as hereinabove
described;
That condemnation proceedings be, and the same hereby are,
authorized to be brought in the name of Salt Lake City by the Law
Department of Salt Lake City, to acquire thereby all land hereinafter
described for the necessary planned expansion and construction of the
Salt Lake City International Airport as hereinabove set forth;
The parcel of land hereby authorized to be acquired by condemna-
tion proceedings in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the
State of Utah relating to eminent domain, are situated in the County
of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and are more particularly described as
follows:
BEGINNING on the South line of North Temple and center of
North Point Canal 630 feet North and 530 feet, more or less,
West from the South quarter corner of Section 32, Township
1 North, Range 1 West, Salt Lake Meridian, and running thence
West 200 feet Southerly parallel to and 200 feet West from
center of said canal to the section line; thence East along
section line 200 feet; thence Northerly along center of said
canal to BEGINNING.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion of the herein described
property now occupied by the Salt Lake Garfield Western
Railroad.
PASSED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH,
this 31st day of December 1975. //
