Agraz Greener 4 c G'�0,'`� C i Hogensen Phillips RESOLUTION Result WHEREAS, Salt Lake City's Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance Officer, under Federal guidelines has sundry responsibilities involving, among other duties, the monitoring and evaluation of the City's com- pliance with equal opportunity of employment, together with monitor- ing and evaluating the City's and contractor's compliance with Federal contract assurances; and WHEREAS, the majority of these functions are most closely related to personnel functions; and WHEREAS, it is the desire and will of the Board of Salt Lake City Commissioners that the City be in full compliance in the spirit and letter of the law regarding equal employment opportunities for all persons; and WHEREAS, to accomplish these goals and purposes, a delineation of accountability and responsibility is desirable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Salt Lake City Commissioners that: 1. The Salt Lake City Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance (EEOC) Officer be assigned to the Personnel Office of the City, in the Department of Public Finance, and that said officer be reponsible and report directly to the Director of Personnel. 2. The said EEOC Officer's responsibility shall include the monitoring and review of contractors performing work for Salt Lake City, with regard to compliance with Federal assurances appurtaining to equal opportunity commitments made by the City and/or said con- tractors. 3. Said EEOC Officer shall be directly supervised and responsible to the Director of Personnel; however, in the event that the said EEOC Officer shall find serious non-compliance of equal opportunity laws or regulations by the City or any of its contractors which needs -2- remedial attention of the administration of the City, it shall be the cuty and responsibility of said Officer to forthwith inform the Board of Salt Lake City Commissioners and/or the Salt Lake City Attorney of such non-compliance, together with a proposal to bring the City into full compliance.
