in S-1t Lake County, and by virtue of a contract heretofore
made and entered into with the Bi; Cottonwood Tanner Ditch
Company, Salt Luke City has a °reed to deliver to sand com-
pany certain waters from Utah Lake in exchange for water from
Big Cottonwood Creek, and
i'1ii dEkS, Salt Lake City contemplates and is now ne-
gotiating other contracts of a similar nature for other waters
of Big Cottonwood Creek and Little (Cottonwood Creek, and
lTI.t ES, it is necessary in order to make said ex-
change of waters to extend the East Jordan Canal, in which canal
Salt lake City has an interest, for the -2//21nose of delivering
water from Utah Lake to the said Tanner Ditch Company and to
such other •arsons as said City may contract with for the ex-
change of waters, and
1.1=AS, it is and is hereby declared to be necessary
for said City to own the follo ;in_. described property through
':;hich said East Jordan Canal, as expended, will run.

against the owners of the property hereinafter described, for
the ourpose of acouirin; title to said lands for Salt Lake City
by condemnation for said extension of the East Jordan Canal,

E., Salt Lake Base and _eridian; thence S. 76° 21' E.

N. 71° 20' B. 156.07 feet; thence along a curve to
the left radius 217.8 feet a distance of 13.5 feet;
thence N. 2° 13' E. 53.1 feet to be.ynning; contain-
ing .223 acres more or less.

and he is hereby instructed to commence such proceedings at
once.
In the opinion of the hoard of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this resolution become effective at once.
This resolution shall take effect upon itsaoassage.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, this 18th day of I,Tarch, I. D. 1920.
