By this action, equal tribute is also paid to you for the love and devotion and inspiration you have given to your beloved husband and father. You have our sincerest sympathy in your bereavement. May God bless you and yours with that peace which surpasseth all understanding. Barker Harmsen Harrison Phillips • RESOLUTION Result RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE WHEREAS, Christopher E. Athas, succumbed at the age of 75 on January 20, 1973; and WHEREAS, he devoted his life to the service of his community, state and nation, helping to sponsor many cultural events, such as the "Salute to Greece" concert by the Utah Symphony Orchestra in 1954; and WHEREAS, during his lifetime he held many civic positions as well as being appointed in 1953 as a special representative by Utah Senator Arthur V. Watkins to investigate the Refugee Bill results in Greece and was appointed in 1954 as a special consultant to the Utah Foreign Disaster Committee which shipped eight train carloads of food, clothing and flour to Greece; and WHEREAS, Mr. Athas was decorated by two Kings of Greece and by the Greek Government for his work in cementing relationships between the citizens of Utah and the citizens of Greece; and WHEREAS, he received many official honors from various profes- sional and civic organizations for his outstanding contributions to the Greek community of Salt Lake City as well as to the citizens of Greece; and WHEREAS, in his passing, Salt Lake City has lost one of its most respected and valued citizens. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, that it does hereby express on its own behalf, and on behalf of all the citizens of Salt Lake City, its sincere appreciation for the most productive life and service of Christopher E. Athas, together with its deep sympathy to Mr. Athas' survivors for the personal loss which they have sustained in his passing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution of Condolence be delivered to the family of Christopher E. Athas as an expression of our sympathy and deep feeling of loss.Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lak -City, a this 24th day f January, 1973. E
