Martin for his service as Director of the Rocky Mountain Region o VOTING ; Aye Nay Salt Lake City, Utah, January 22 , 1980 _ 7-- Whitehead L/ F Resolution No. ;1 of 1980 by the City Council Mabey v Councilmember Shearer moved and Fonnesbeck Councilmember Mabey seconded that the DePaulis ' City Council approve the resolution with the request that Paul B. Shearer �. Gaines, Airport Director, deliver the resolution to Mr. Martin. Davis Parker Result ,/ Chairman RESOLUTION WHEREAS, M. M. Martin has retired as Director of the Rocky Mountain Region of the Federal Aviation Administration; and WHEREAS, Mr. Martin in the capacity of Director has wisely and with great competency administered the Airport and Airway Development Program; and WHEREAS, he has been responsive to the aviation requirements of this community and dealt fairly with the Airport staff; and WHEREAS, he and his staff have been of great assistance to the Salt Lake City International Airport, by virtue of which said Airport has experienced substantial expansion and improvement in facilities and technology which has made it better able to meet the demands of interstate commerce, the postal service, and the national defense, all of which has greatly benefited Salt Lake City and the citizens thereof; and WHEREAS, Mr. Martin exhibited great wisdom and foresight by maintaining the flight service station on Salt Lake City International Airport; and WHEREAS, the Airport Authority, the Airport management, Salt Lake City and the residents thereof owe Mr. Martin a great debt of gratitude for his dedication to the improvement of the Sa].t Lake City International Airport and Airport No. 2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salt Lake City Council does hereby express to M. M. Martin on behalf of itself and on behalf of the residents of Salt Lake City its sincere appreciation and gratitude for his devoted and capable services, his untiring efforts to improve, expand and develop wisely the Salt Lake City Airports. The City Council further wishes him well in his retirement and hopes that he will derive great satisfaction in knowing that he has played an important role in the growth and development of a modern Airport system for this community.
