// OF APPRECIATION
WHEREAS, Eldon T. McEntire commenced working for the City Water
Department on July 1, 1934, during the year of an extensive drought;
and
WHEREAS, he graduated as an engineer and rose through the ranks
of the City's Water Department, becoming its chief engineer approxi-
mately 25 years ago; and
WHEREAS, in his capacity as chief engineer has been directly
involved in the design of pumping plants and the City's water dis-
tribution system; and
WHEREAS, he has performed his duties and responsibilities well
and faithfully, going beyond that expected of an employee in providing
not only in excess of the hourly requirements but the loyalty and
conscientious diligence of an outstanding City employee; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salt Lake and all City and County residents
using water from Salt Lake City's water system owe Mr. McEntire a debt
of gratitude for his long and faithful years of diligent service to
the City.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SALT LAKE CITY COMMISSIONERS
that Eldon McEntire be commended on his retirement, and that the Board
on behalf of Salt Lake City Corporation, its residents and the residents
of the County served by the City's water system, hereby express their
heart-felt appreciation and thanks for the years of long and faithful
service rendered by Eldon McEntire to the City of Salt Lake. The
Commission extends its best wishes for a long, useful and happy re-
tirement to Eldon McEntire and the enjoyment and association of his
wife and family.
