By By Commissioner PARK That a Special Auditor be employed_ to a-udit special tax funds and provide a system for handling special accounts. RE SOLUTI ON . AREAS, a number of uneollectible accounts have been reported to the Commission from time to time, and abatements have been authorized for various reasons in different departments; and WHEREAS, the legal 'd6ar'tmeht"a'" has collected and may yet be able to collect many of these overdue accounts; and WHEREAS, it is advisable to separate the collectible from the uncollectible in order to cancel all accounts impossible of collection, and to enforce the collection of all others; and WHEREAS, the recent audit of municipal accounts did not include special funds collected and held for special improvements; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to adopt a system of handling these special accounts in a way to prevent double assessments and other errors which entail suits at law and burden the books with bad accounts, now there— fore be it RESOLVED, that an audit of these special funds and accounts be made by the Board of City Commissioners,, and that a special auditor, in no wise connected with the city administration be employed by the Board of Commissioners for the purpose herein menti d.
