The above action, as indicated by paragraphs 1 and 2, constitutes the official action
taken by the Sa t Lake City Council on the above date.

CITY RECORDER CIL CHAIRPERSON
The City Council and Mayor presented a resolution
commending Robert McQuarrie for his dedication and commitment to Salt
Lake City and the East Central Community Council and wishing him and
his family well in their new community. Councilmember Godfrey read
the resolution and Councilmember Kirk presented it to Mr. McQuarrie.
Councilmember Fonnesbeck moved and Councilmember Stoler seconded to
adopt Resolution 138 of 1987, which motion carried, all members voted
aye. Mr. McQuarrie thanked the City Council and Mayor.

Robert Mcpuarrie has'served was Chairgersoniof the.Eas

r-Whereas, Robert has contributed many volunteer hou s working toward keeping
"� , the East Central communty a viable residential neighborhood with
a healthy neighborhood business environment'; and
Whereas, Robert was instrumental In creatung a task,force to examne the
B-3 zoning ordinance and torevlse the ordinance to make It compatible
with residential neighborhods, and
Whereas, Robert facilitated discussions between the neighborhood and Smith's
Food King regarding the expansion of a parking lot at 800 South
and 900 East and ecnouraged an agreement which met the concerns
of neighborhood residents, and
Whereas, Robert is being transferred by his employer to another state and
therefore, must resign his positron as chairperson of the East
Central Community Council.
Now, Therefore be It resolved that the City Council and Mayor want to co mend
Robert McQuarrie for his deducatlon and commtment to Salt Lake
City and the East Central Community Council and to wish him and
his family well in their new conomunity.
