WHEREAS, Woni�n 's Hfstory lv!onth, celebrated an;mally in March, honors the
contributions and achievements of women throughout history and in contemporary society; and
WHEREAS, Women's History Month provides an opportunity to recognize and
commemorate the countless women who have made significant strides across
various.fields; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City acknowledges the invaluable role that women have played in shaping the cultural, economic, and social fabric of our community, contributing to its growth, diversity, and resilience; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City recognJ.es the importance of promoting gender equality to
ensure a more just and equitable society for all; and
WHEREAS, the theme for: Women's History Month 2025, "Moving Forward Together! Women Education and Inspiring Generations," celebrates the women who have
dedicated their lives to education, mentorship, and leadership, shaping the
minds and futures of all generations; and
WHEREAS, the League ofvVomen Voters has been a vital part of women's political power
for over 100 years,from the historic days of suffragists to the election of the first
female Vice President, continuing to empower women and ensure their voices
are heard in the political process; and
WHEREAS, Women's History Month serves as a celebration of the progress made in
advancing women's rights and a reminder of the ongoing work needed to build
a more inclusive future; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where women are valued, respected, and provided with equal
opportunities to thrive.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,
that the Salt Lake City Council and Mayor of Salt Lake City hereby honor and recognize
Women's History JYfonth 2025, encourage all residents to participate in activities and
events that celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in Salt Lake City
and beyond; and
