ERV1CE TO SALT LAKE CITY
WHEREAS, Katherine Lewis, the CityAttorneyfor Salt Lake City, has consisten lydemonstratedexceptionalleadership, policy expertise, and creative roblem-solving skills; and
WHEREAS, Katherine Lewis' guidance was invaluable in navigating unprecede, tedchallenges, including the COVID-19pandemic, a major earthquake, adevastatingwindstorm, and an historic period of demonstrations c lling forpolicereform; and
WHEREAS, Kath'erine Lewis' legal counsel contributed to the successfulrecover andstrategicapproach/or the City'srecovery through tumultuous times; andIWHEREAS, Katherine Lewis exhibited outstanding leadership in complex negotiations fortransformativeprojectsofgenerationalimportance, such as the Inland Port, Downtown Sports and Entertainment District, and the Fairpark an'd PowerDistrictdevelopments; and I
WHEREAS, Katherine J,,ewis' thorough research, masterful negotiation skills, amd steadfastcommitmenttointegrityandtransparencysecuredlastingbenefits]forfuturegenerationsofSaltLalcers; and
WHEREAS, Katherine Lewis' ability to resolve disputes professionally and dipl maticallyhasbeeninstrumentalinmaintainingpositiverelationshipswithelctedofficials, staff, and community members; and
WHEREAS, Katherine Lewis' unwavering commitment to public service and integrity hasearnedtherespectandtrustofallwhohavehadtheprivilegeofwokingwithher; and
WHEREAS, Katherine Lewis has consistently demonstrated a deep understandi g ofmunicipallaw, budgeting, land use, and citygovernance, which all, wed her tocontributegreatlytothewell-being of the City of Salt Lake; and I
WHEREAS, Katherine Lewis' strategic thinking and attention to detail have sigmificantlyshapedthe.futureof our City; and
WHEREAS, as a mentor and leader, Katherine Lewis has inspired and empoweFed countlessindividualswithintheCitygovernment; and
WHEREAS, Katherine Lewis' positive attitude and optimistic outlook have foste ed acollaborativeandproductiveworkenvironmentamongcolleaguesndstaffalike.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,
that the Salt Lake City Council and Mayor of Salt Lake Cityexpressour deepestgratitudeandappreciationtoKatherineLewisforherunwaveringdedication, hard work, and invaluable contributions to Salt Lake City; and
