RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING
ONE KIND ACT A DAY WEEK IN SALT LAKE CITY
WHEREAS, in partnership with The Semnani Family Foundation, Salt Lake City
desires to celebrate and promote kindness with a campaign known as "One
Kind Act A Day"; and
WHEREAS, now, more than ever, the world needs more kindness; and
WHEREAS, kindness can be as simple as a single smile, a thoughtful message to a friend, or
just a small, unexpected gesture, but the effects have the power to change our
lives and our worldfor the better; and
WHEREAS, one act of kindness can brighten a moment, lift someone's spirits, and turn a
bad day into a good day; and
WHEREAS, kindness becomes contagious, as one small act of kindness can spark another
small act of kindness; and
WHEREAS, we can all do something to make a difference in this world and especially in our
closely knit community; and
WHEREAS, both the giver and the recipient benefit from daily acts of selflessness as the
spirit of generosity has a way of gaining momentum and spreading from one
person to another; and
WHEREAS, we encourage all to commit to one act of kindness every single day.
NOW THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED,
That the Salt Lake City Council and Mayor of Salt Lake City recognize the week of September
12, 2022 as "One Kind Act A Day" week in Salt Lake City in order to honor, recognize, and
celebrate the inherent good in people, and to cultivate one of the most important gifts of all-
our faith in humanity, and our belief in a better, kinder future for all people, all over the
world.
