A. Proposed Legislative Action: Review of Demolition Ordinance
Council Member Adams requests the Council consider adopting a Legislative Action
initiating a review of the City Demolition Ordinance (Chapter 18.64).
The Council Office has received feedback that the current demolition ordinance has
unintentionally created blight and nuisance issues in some City neighborhoods and
is difficult to navigate and administer. The intent is to review the ordinance and
come back to the Council with recommendations for amendments.
If the Council is supportive of this legislative action, staff will prepare the legislative
action and motion sheet to be considered for adoption during the March 15 Council
meeting.
➢ Does the Council support initiation of this petition?A Straw Poll
was taken with all Council Members in support of initiating the
petition.
B. WaterNow Alliance Inaugural Summit
Council expressed interest in the WaterNow Alliance Inaugural Summit in Tempe,Arizona
on Wednesday,March 30-3ist. Council Member Kitchen would like to attend. Council office
policy requires an announcement to be made if a Member would like to attend a convention
outside the pre-authorized standard conferences.
A.38 COUNCIL OFFICE TRAVEL (11io1)
a. Any or all Council Members may travel to conferences and conventions related to City business.
b. The Council currently budgets for a standard amount for travel.Pre-authorized conventions are:

d. When a Council Member expresses interest in traveling to a conference, convention or seminar,
beyond the pre-authorized opportunities, Council staff will prepare a notice for the
announcements. If the Council Members present during review of the announcement concur with the
proposed travel, Council staff will finalize travel plans. If the Council Members are opposed to the
proposed travel, the trip is not scheduled.
e. Since the Council is committed to a well-trained professional staff, the Council budgeted for one
conference approximately every other year per professional staff person within existing budgetary
constraints, as work schedules allow and with approval of the Executive Director. Special
circumstances for professional required education will be considered by the Director.
➢ Does the Council support paying for this trip?Yes.Discussion
was held on having a Council staff person attend with
