Financial Disclosure Announcement (Attached — please see second page) During January of each year, Council Members are given an annual reminder to submit a financial disclosure form if the Council Member's position in his or her business entity has changed or if the value of such Council Member's interest in the entity has materially increased since the last disclosure. (SLC Code 2.44.050) ➢ Please let staff know if you need the documents to update your disclosure forms. Ms. Gust-Jenson, Council Executive Director, explained to Council Members that a new financial disclosure form would need to be submitted only if there were any changes from the previous year. B. Council District Newsletters for Public Utilities Mailing: Prior to each calendar year, the Public Utilities Department identifies months for Council Members to include Council District newsletters as an insert in their monthly mailing to City residents. The goal is for each Council Member to have an opportunity to participate. Council Members pay for printing expenses out of their communication budget while saving on costs associated with postage. There is a limit of three Council District newsletters for each month. ➢ Council Members,please let Council staff know which month you are interested in: o April o August** o December Council Members requested the following months: • Councilmember Adams -April • Councilmember Mendenhall —April • Councilmember Rogers -April • Councilmember Johnston -August • Councilmember Luke -December • Councilmember Penfold -December **Since 2017 is an election year for Council Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7, Council Members representing these districts may need to avoid the August newsletter in keeping with Council policy that states: "Council Members who are up for reelection should not mail out Council newsletters any later than ten weeks before a primary election (no mailing/mass distributions from June through November)."
