A) Legislative Action: Alcohol Establishments Zoning Amendment
(Trestle Tavern Conditional Use Application)
Per Council direction from the July nth meeting, staff explored options regarding
new State liquor laws that may have unintended consequences or conflict with
current zoning in Salt Lake City.
This item has been placed on tonight's formal meeting for consideration. The
Council may consider adopting a Legislative Action initiating a review of the City's
zoning regulations pertaining to alcohol establishments in the Neighborhood
Commercial (CN) business district in order to update the zoning ordinance so it is
consistent with State code.
Councilmember Luke thanked Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director, and
staff for the promptness of this being on the agenda.
B) Public Engagement Plans for Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADUs) and
Homeless Resource Center (HRC) (ATTACHED)
The Council will consider two major land use petitions in the coming weeks:
Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADUs) and Homeless Resource Center (HRC).
Staff has outlined the Council schedule and engagement plan in order to increase
public awareness about the petitions. If the Council is supportive of these proposed
timelines, staff will begin distributing the information well in advance of the
meetings.
Ms. Gust-Jenson said the Council's packet included robust public engagement
opportunities and asked Council Members to review the information and get back
to Staff regarding any additions or changes needed.
