TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13 , 2007
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in Regular Session on
Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at 7 : 00 p.m. in Room 315, City Council
Chambers, City County Building, 451 South State .
The following Council Members were present:
Carlton Christensen Van Turner Nancy Saxton
Dave Buhler Eric Jergensen
Jill Remington Love Soren Simonsen
Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Edwin Rutan, City
Attorney; and Chris Meeker, Acting City Recorder were present.
Councilmember Turner presided at and conducted the meeting.
#1 .7:06:19 PM The Council led the Pledge of Allegiance .
#2 .7:06:51PM The Council will adopt a Resolution in honor of LeRoy
W. Hooton Jr. with 49 years of public service to Salt Lake City and its
residents .
Councilmember Buhler moved and Councilmember Jergensen seconded to
adopt Resolution 70 of 2007, which motion carried, all members voted aye.

#3. 7:17:35 PM Councilmember Simonsen moved and Councilmember
Christensen seconded to approve the minutes of the Salt Lake City Council
meeting held October 16, 2007 , which motion carried, all members voted
aye .
PUBLIC HEARINGS
#1 . 7:17:58 PM Accept public comment and consider adopting an
ordinance rezoning properties located at 360-376 South 900 West, and
amending the West Salt Lake Community Master Plan and Zoning Map.

The following citizen spoke regarding the issue.

Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Love seconded to
close the public hearing, which motion carried, all members voted aye.
Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember seconded to adopt
Ordinance 60 of 2007 to re-zone properties located at 360 to 376 South
900 West from Residential Multi-family RMF-35 to a Commercial
Neighborhood or (CN) zone as well as amend the West Salt Lake Community

Master Plan and Zoning Map and further move the Council initiate a
legislative action to rezone properties with single family dwellings
located between 300 South and Interstate I-80 to 1000 West currently
zoned Residential Multi-family (RMF-35) to an appropriate single family
residential zoning classification, with a roll call vote, which motion
carried, Council Members Simonsen, Buhler, Love, Jergensen, Christensen
and Turner voted aye and Councilmember Saxton voted nay.

ordinance amending Section 21A.28 . 020 , Salt Lake City Code, pertaining to

Councilmember Jergensen moved and Councilmember Christensen seconded
to close the public hearing, which motion carried, all members voted aye.
Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Jergensen seconded
to adopt Ordinance 61 of 2007, which motion carried, all members voted
aye .

ordinance closing a portion of 700 South at approximately 600 West as a
public street. (Petition No. 400-07-02)
Councilmember Love moved and Councilmember Saxton seconded to close
the public hearing and refer to a future Council meeting, which motion
carried, all members voted aye .

ordinance closing a portion of the southern half of South Temple between
750 West (I-15) and 900 West as a public street . (Petition No . 400-07-

approve the Consent Agenda, which motion carried, all members voted aye .
#1 . RE: Requesting the Administration not hold a hearing November
13, 2007, regarding a request that will establish an easement on the
eastern boundary of the Public Safety property to facilitate Qwest' s
realignment of the telephone poles and lines . This is necessary in
conjunction with the demolition of the garage, which was used under
agreement with the prior owner of the property. There is no compensation
considered in association with this conveyance .

The property is anticipated to be developed for commercial use, and a
