Straw Poll on an Additional Budget Amendment Item The Administration has requested an early straw poll of a Budget Amendment item for an Administrative Assistant in IMS.They would like to advertise this position before funding has been appropriated with Council advance support via straw poll. No questions were raised on this position during the previous budget amendment discussion. This is not a net additional position to be added,but is a consolidation of some administrative positions that have been eliminated and therefore requires Council action. ➢ Would the Council be ok with IMS advertising for this position prior to the Budget Amendment's approval? Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director, said this was addressed during the work session (Straw Poll with all Council in favor, except Councilmember Mendenhall who was absent for the Straw Poll. B. HRC Site Selection A special meeting,public announcement, and signing of the Resolution regarding the Homeless Resource Center has been scheduled for Monday,November 21, 2°16 at 1:3opm for all Council Members and Administration.This date and time was selected and identified by Council as when the majority of you could attend. )> Is the full Council available to participate? Ms. Gust-Jenson asked Council to review the draft resolution they were given and let Staff know if the resolution was on the right track. Councilmember Rogers asked if any Council Members would not be available.All Council Members were planning on attending. C. Legislative Breakfast Options Council staff is working with Mayor Biskupski's Administration to arrange the annual breakfast with Salt Lake City legislators. One option instead of breakfast might be to have an extended dinner before a scheduled City Council meeting.A dinner like that could be held between 5:3o p.m. and 7 p.m. on a City Council meeting night.The remaining Council meetings in December are on December 6 and December 13.January Council meeting dates are January 3, io, and 17. ➢ Would Council Members prefer to meet with legislators at a breakfast or before a City Council meeting?A majority of the Council was in favor of an extended dinner. Ms. Gust-Jenson said Staff would contact the Legislature about the dinner option and provide feedback to Council. D. Early Advertising for an Item on the Dec. 13th Agenda The Trolley Ventures Zoning Map amendment received a favorable recommendation from the Planning Commission on Wednesday,November 9.This item was previously transmitted to the Council in June of this year and a public hearing was held in July. However,the applicant decided to start the application over due to an advisory opinion from the State's Ombudsman Office that said the City failed to follow its noticing requirements. The petition has not yet been transmitted to the Council Office. If it arrives in time to be put on the December 6 Council agenda for a briefing, early advertising would need to be posted by November 23. ➢ Would the Council support early advertising for a public hearing on December 13?A majority of the Council was in favor. Ms. Gust-Jenson said any action was subject to receiving the transmittal. **If the application is not transmitted in time for a briefing on December 6,the public hearing can be scheduled for January 2o1.7.
