Administrative updates January 18, 2022 COVID 19 update Current status Cases are surging and we continue to see record case numbers each day, including in SLCO. There are limited test resources in the state, so testing numbers are not accurate right now. The goal now is to reduce hospitalizations: long -term care facilities, homeless services, less -vaccinated areas. Vax, mask, and stay home as much as possible if you are sick. Vaccinations are still widely available and high -quality masks should be worn by all.Visit thisisourshot.com COVID 19 update data update Given insufficient testing, two metrics are most important right now: syndromic surveillance and hospitalizations. Syndromic surveillance tells us what's coming; hospitalizations lag behind diagnosis. Right now, syndromic surveillance tells us that people with covid-like symptoms are reporting to clinics in record high numbers. Hospitalization in SLCO is doubling every 14 days, with 43.5 new cases every day. This surge is predicted to last another 2-3 weeks until numbers go down. Hospitals will be overwhelmed for another 5-6 weeks.
