Jerod noted that there is not a quorum present, but suggested we still have a roll call: Jerod Johnson, Chairman; Mark Vlasic;Alexis Anderson, Facilities;Joan Swain, Facilities;Jim Cleland, Facilities;Terry Wright;John Phillips. Jerod explained that without a full quorum the Committee would not be able to vote on the three action items as listed on the agenda, but he did explain that the Committee has discussed them in a prior meeting and would not review them again. Jaysen Oldroyd, from the Salt Lake City Attorney's office arrived late with a newly created Electronic Meeting Resolution to be voted on by the Committee, but was informed that there was not a full quorum to vote on the resolution. Jaysen will prepare a new document for the August meeting. Jerod suggested the committee quickly review the "New Agenda Items". Agenda Item 1: Go to Meeting Information. Jim Cleland explained that information about"Go to Meeting was being reviewed and the purchase of a webcam was in the works so that once we were able to vote on Electronic Meetings we could be ready to go. Agenda Item 2: Update on New Committee Members. Joan explained that the first applicant, Anne Oliver, had finally been contacted for an interview with the SLC Council and hopefully we would get information back in the next week as whether or not she was approved to serve on the Committee. Joan also reported on two new applicants, Rob Pett of MJSA Architects and Salt Lake Arts Council recommendation, Eva Rinaldi of the Sundance Institute. Both have submitted their applications to the Mayor's office for review. Joan will stay in contact with Holly in the Mayor's office for updates. Agenda Item 3: July Meeting Cancellation. Jerod explained that without a quorum the committee could not vote to cancel the July meeting. The Committee discussed changing the date in July and it was determined that there was not a date that everyone would be in attendance, therefore,Jerod made the decision as the Committee Chairman to officially cancel the July meeting. The next scheduled meeting will be August 10, 2015. 1 Agenda Item 4. Art Gallery Artist presentation. Alexis Anderson from Salt Lake City Facilities Division provided each committee member a copy of each artist's resume. Alexis presented a slide of the art submitted by each individual artist. The order of artist as shown is as follows: 1. Anne Penrod—Water Colors. A collection of paintings inspired by water, colorful flora and fauna, the Avenues of Salt Lake City and the Colorado River. 2. Carol Berry—figurative paintings in acrylic on wood panels. Entitled: "Nun Such" The art is a collection of whimsical portraits of Nuns in an off center look at the Sister's lives and personalities. 3. Jeffrey Favero—Fine Art Photography—"For me, the art of photography is more about the Giver than the taker. A visual synergy of divine gift, serendipity and a splash of creativity." 4. Marlene Alt- Bryce Canyon National Park's Artist in Residence—Her work in sculpture and installation focuses on landscape as a place, as body, as memory, and as object. 5. Turn City Center for the Arts is an art-based day program for adults with disabilities.—"Stop Pushing Me' explores themes of inclusion, ability, friendship, bullying and emotion through a wide variety of media, including acrylics, ink, graphite, fabric and colored pencil. 6. Christopher Baker—Oil/Acrylic Painting—Art images and ideas inspired by the universe and incorporating these images into intricate mazes. The Committee voted to display art from Anne Penrod,Jeffrey Favero. Alexis informed the Committee that the next "call for art"will be November 2015. The meeting was adjourned. 2
