05/19/2021 - Agenda Racial Equity in Policing Commission and City Council Meeting Notice Racial Equity in Policing Commission and City Council Meeting Notice Salt Lake City Utah Listening Session Agenda Wednesday,May 19,2021 6:00 pm This meeting will be an electronic meeting pursuant to the Core Commission and City Council Chair's determination that conducting the meeting at a physical location presents a substantial risk to the health and safety of those who may be present at the anchor location. The Listening Session will not have a physical location and all attendees will connect remotely. The Racial Equity in Policing Commission will hold a live, televised listening community conversation with Mayor Erin Mendenhall,Police Chief Mike Brown, and members of the City Council. The session is designed to give the Commission a wide range of perspectives on policing in Salt Lake City and is focused on hearing from Communities of Color. Members of the audience can participate via phone,text message,or online using a dedicated social media hashtag. Answers will be posted and shared in real-time with viewers. The Commission will also conduct a random "dial-out" to several thousand homes across the community to help encourage a broad cross- section of participation prior to the listening session.
