TUESDAY, APRIL 23, 2013
The City Council met in a closed session on Tuesday, April 23, 2013,
at 5 : 07 p.m. in Room 326, City Council Office, City County Building,
451 South State Street.
In Attendance: Council Members Carlton Christensen, Kyle LaMalfa, Stan
Penfold, Luke Garrott, Jill Remington Love, Soren Simonsen, and
Charlie Luke.
Staff In Attendance: Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director;
David Everitt, Chief of Staff; and Ed Rutan, City Attorney.
Councilmember LaMalfa presided at and conducted the meeting .
Statement by Ed Rutan
During the course of the closed session, this topic was
inadvertently discussed at a general level that took it out of the
context of the specific individual who was the subject of the closed
meeting. I have been advised that the discussion will be included in
the minutes of the work session.
Discussion
Councilmember Garrott inquired about the Administration' s policy
on the independence of the City Prosecutor' s Office from the City
Attorney' s Office. David Everitt, Chief of Staff, briefly responded.
Ed Rutan, City Attorney explained the basis for the policy.
