A. Airport Master Plan Invitation for November 13:
To increase the potential for City Council comment on the next phase of the proposed Department of Airports
master plan,the department plans to provide two opportunities for Council Members to comment on the plan in
November.In July,three Council Members attended an Airport Master Plan Policy Advisory Committee to
discuss existing conditions and airline activity at Salt Lake International Airport.On November 13 Council
Members can attend either the Policy Advisory Committee or the Technical Advisory Committee to discuss
alternatives for future airport development and the effect of future development on the area's environment.The
meetings will be held one after the other in the afternoon that day.Exact times will be available closer to the
date.
Jennifer Bruno, Council Executive Deputy Director, informed the Council of the opportunity to
comment on the Airport Master Plan. She asked the Council to let Staff know if they were
interested in attending either of the Committee meetings.
B. School Board Small Group Meetings:
Council and RDA leadership(Council Members Luke,Rogers and Fowler)plan to meet with School Board
leadership on Friday,August 30.
Currently,agenda items provided by Council Members include:
• Speed boards around schools
• Crossing guards
➢ If you have topics for this discussion,please let Council staff know and your item will be
listed on the agenda.
Council Members suggested adding:
• Salt Lake County potential annexation with North Salt Lake.
• North Temple Education Funds
• State Street and 9-Line
Council staff has asked for agenda items from the School Board as well,and will share them once received.
