WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2010
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in Special Meeting on
Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 6 : 00 p.m. in Room 315, City Council
Chambers, City County Building, 451 South State .
The following Council Members were present:
Carlton Christensen Stan Penfold Luke Garrott
Jill Remington Love Soren Simonsen
The following Council Members were absent:
Van Turner JT Martin
Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Edwin Rutan, City
Attorney; David Everitt, Mayor' s Chief of Staff; and Beverly Jones,
Deputy City Recorder; were present.
Councilmember Love presided at and conducted the meeting.
OPENING CEREMONY
#1 . 6 : 00 : 04 PM The Council led the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC HEARING
#1 . 6 : 00 :28 PM RE: Accept public comment and consider one or more
ordinances adopting and ratifying the rate of tax levy, greater than
the Certified Tax Rate, upon all real and personal property within Salt
Lake City made taxable by law for Fiscal Year 2010-11 . View

The following spoke in opposition of the tax levy: Deanna Wankier;
Eric DeHaan; Jeff Taylor; Farrell Wankier and Royce Van Tassell, Vice
President of the Utah Taxpayer' s Association.
Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Simonsen
seconded to close the public hearing and defer action on Items D1-D4 to
the meeting on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, which motion carried, all
members present voted aye .
