WORK SESSION
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13 , 2005
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in a Work Session on
Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at 5 : 30 p.m. in Room 326, City Council
Office, City County Building, 451 South State Street.
In Attendance : Council Members Carlton Christensen, Van Turner, Eric
Jergensen, Nancy Saxton, Jill Remington Love, Dave Buhler and Dale
Lambert.
Also in Attendance : Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Edwin
Rutan, City Attorney; Rosemary Kappas, Director of the Salt Lake Housing
Authority; Tim Harpst, Transportation Director; Alexander Ikefuna,
Planning Director; Mayor Ross C. "Rocky" Anderson; Sam Guevara, Mayor' s
Chief of Staff; Lex Traughber, Preservation and Urban Design Planner;
Sylvia Jones, Council Research and Policy Analyst/Constituent Liaison;
Larry Spendlove, Senior City Attorney; Lehua Weaver, Council Constituent
Liaison; Janice Jardine, Council Land Use Policy Analyst; LuAnn Clark,

Councilmember Lambert presided at and conducted the meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 5 : 38 p.m.

#4 . 6 : 20 : 40 PM HOLD A FOLLOW-UP DISCUSSION ON THE PROPOSED
COMPATIBLE RESIDENTIAL INFILL ZONING REGULATIONS . (PETITION NO. 400-05-
25) (ITEM F-6) View Attachments
Joel Paterson, Janice Jardine and Mayor Anderson briefed the Council
from the attached handouts . Councilmember Jergensen asked if Council
wanted wall height addressed in the ordinance. The majority of Council
Members wanted wall height addressed in the ordinance.
Councilmember Lambert asked who was willing to allow SR-1 and
Wasatch Hollow to go with a six month temporary zoning restriction of 23-
feet. Councilmember Love said she wanted temporary SR-1 zoning for
Wasatch Hollow and the Avenues . Council Members Buhler, Lambert, and
Turner said they agreed with Councilmember Love .
Councilmember Lambert asked about 20-feet for flat roof and wall
height and 28-feet to the crest. All Council Members were in favor.
