TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12 , 2019
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in Formal Session on
Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Room 326, Committee Room, City County
Building, 451 South State.
The following Council Members were present:
James Rogers Amy Fowler Chris Wharton
Erin Mendenhall Charlie Luke Andrew Johnston
The following Councilmember was absent:
Analia Valdemoros
Jennifer Bruno, Council Executive Deputy Director; Jacqueline
Biskupski, Mayor; Patrick Leary, Mayor' s Chief of Staff; David Litvack,
Mayor' s Deputy Chief of Staff; Margaret Plane, City Attorney; and Scott
Crandall, Deputy City Recorder; were present.
Councilmember Luke presided at and conducted the meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 6 : 18 p.m.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
#1. 6:18:45 PM Accept public comment and consider adopting an
ordinance amending the final budget of Salt Lake City, including the
employment staffing document, for Fiscal Year 2018-19 . The proposed
amendment includes, but is not limited to, a proposed one-time loan
program for federal employees experiencing economic hardship due to a
federal government shutdown. (Budget Amendment No. 4) View Attachment
There were no public comments .
Councilmember Mendenhall moved and Councilmember Fowler seconded to
close the public hearing and adopt Ordinance 7 of 2019, amending the
Fiscal Year 2018-2019 final budget of Salt Lake City as proposed by the
Administration and that the loan program prioritize: 1) Federal Employees
who are Salt Lake City residents, and 2) Federal Employees working at
the Salt Lake City Airports, which motion carried, all members present
voted aye .
Councilmember Mendenhall said she was grateful the City was in a
position to potentially help hundreds of families/individuals and
thanked the Administration for their creative proposal .
