A. The Hibernian Society (St. Patrick's Day) Parade, "The Irish
Are Coming, 4o Years of Shamrocks & Shenanigans"
The parade will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to
approximately noon. Interested Council Members will meet at 9:3o a.m. (meeting
place to be determined and staff will let you know.)
The parade route will be going west from 50o east and 200 south over to the
Gallivan Center. This year celebrates the 4oth anniversary of the very first St.
Patrick's Day parade in Salt Lake City. Staff is coordinating with the Fire
Department to see if it is possible for the Council Members to ride on one of their
fire trucks.
➢ Please let the front office know ASAP if you are interested in joining in the
parade, so they can get the Fire Department a count of participants.
Councilmember Mendenhall said she was interested in joining in the parade
and asked if families were invited. Jennifer Bruno, Council Executive Deputy
Director; stated families had been invited in the past; however, she would have
Staff confirm it.Ms. Bruno reminded Council Members to let the front office
know as soon as possible if they were interested in joining in the parade.
