WORK SESSION
TUESDAY, JANUARY 11, 2005
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah met in Work Session on
Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at 5 : 30 p.m. in Room 326, Committee Room,
City County Building, 451 South State Street.
In Attendance : Council Members Carlton Christensen, Van Turner, Eric

The meeting was called to order at 5 : 36 p.m.

Councilmember Lambert said the reappointment would be advanced to

Councilmember Lambert said the appointment would be advanced to

WASATCH FRONT REGIONAL COUNCIL AND ENVISION UTAH REGARDING THE UPCOMING
REGIONAL VISIONING PROCESS "WASATCH CHOICES 2040 . " View Attachments
Chuck Chapel, Bob Terragno and Ted Knowlton briefed the Council
with a computer presentation and the attached handout.
#6 . 6:36:25 PM RECEIVE A FOLLOW-UP BRIEFING REGARDING A ZONING
AMENDMENT THAT WOULD REQUIRE PARKING LOTS TO BE LOCATED BEHIND
BUILDINGS AND NOT OCCUPY STREET FRONTAGE IN ALL COMMUNITY-ORIENTED
COMMERCIAL AND MIXED USE ZONING DISTRICTS . (ITEM F-1) View Attachments
Louis Zunguze, Doug Dansie, Janice Jardine, and Brent Wilde
briefed the Council with the attached handout. Council Members
expressed concerns about notification, differences between the original
Planning Commission' s (PC) proposal and the final draft, and requesting
a new PC process . Councilmember Christensen suggested holding another
public hearing after notices were sent to every property owner. He
said an outline of the proposed ordinance could be mailed with the
notices . He said prior to the hearing, the PC could review changes and
provide input. Mr. Wilde said notification was feasible. See File M
05-3 for further discussion and formal motions .
#7 . (TENTATIVE) HOLD A DISCUSSION REGARDING UPCOMING LEGISLATIVE
ISSUES .
No discussion was held.
