TUESDAY, JANUARY 2 , 2018
The Oath of Office Ceremony for Salt Lake City Council Districts 1,
3, 5, and 7 was held Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 12 : 14 p.m. on the east
steps of the City and County Building, 451 South State.
The following Council Members were present:
Charlie Luke Erin Mendenhall Derek Kitchen
Stan Penfold Lisa Adams Andrew Johnston
James Rogers
Mayor Jacqueline Biskupski; Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council
Director; and Cindi Mansell, City Recorder; were present.
12: 14 :28 PM Councilmember Penfold presided at and called the
Induction Ceremony Meeting to order.
FLAG CEREMONY
The Flag Ceremony/Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Salt Lake
City Police Department Motor Squad.
The National Anthem was sung by the Salt Lake City Fire Department
Choir.

Council Chair.

District 1, by Jon Rogers, Notary Public.

District 3, by Justice Paige Petersen, Utah Supreme Court .

Councilmember Luke assumed conduction of the meeting at this time.

The group enjoyed a cultural performance of Maori Haka conducted by
the Young Eagles Rugby Group.
Closing Remarks by Councilmember Luke.
The meeting adjourned at 1 : 00 p.m.
