INDUCTION CEREMONY
TUESDAY, JANUARY 3 , 2006
The Oath of Office Ceremony for Council Members of Council
Districts 1, 3, 5, and 6 of Salt Lake City, Utah was held on Tuesday,
January 3, 2006 at 12 : 00 p.m. in Room 315, City Council Chambers, City
County Building, 451 South State .
The following Council Members were present:
Carlton Christensen Van Turner Eric Jergensen
Jill Remington Love Nancy Saxton Dave Buhler
Dale Lambert
Mayor Ross C. "Rocky" Anderson; Edwin Rutan, City Attorney; Cindy
Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Kendrick Cowley, City
Recorder; and Chris Meeker, Chief Deputy City Recorder were present.
12 : 01 : 48 PM Councilmember Lambert presided at and conducted the
Induction Ceremony.
FLAG CEREMONY
12 : 02 : 11 PM The Flag Ceremony was presented by the North West
Girl Scout Troop #525 .
WELCOME TO GUESTS AND ELECTED OFFICIALS
Councilmember Lambert welcomed everyone to the Induction
Ceremony. He said he wanted to extend a special welcome to family
members and guests of the Council Members .
OATH OF OFFICE, COUNCIL MEMBERS
12 : 07 :24 PM The Oath of Office was administered to Carlton J.
Christensen, District 1, by the Honorable John L. Baxter, Judge of the
Salt Lake City Justice Court. Kendrick Cowley, City Recorder,
presented Councilmember Christensen with a Certificate of Election.
Councilmember Christensen addressed the audience and then took
his place at the dais .
12 : 18 : 31 PM The Oath of Office was administered to K. Eric
Jergensen, District 3, by the Honorable Virginia Ward, Presiding Judge
of the Salt Lake City Justice Court. Kendrick Cowley, City Recorder,
presented Councilmember Jergensen with a Certificate of Election .
Councilmember Jergensen addressed the audience and then took his
place at the dais .

12 : 34 : 59 PM The Oath of Office was administered to Jill Remington
Love, District 5, by the Honorable Scott Daniels, Retired District
Court Judge. Kendrick Cowley, City Recorder presented Councilmember
Remington Love with a Certificate of Election .
Councilmember Remington Love addressed the audience and then took
her place at the dais .
12 : 47 : 50 PM The Oath of Office was administered to Soren D.
Simonsen, District 7, by the Salt Lake City Recorder, Kendrick Cowley.
Mr. Cowley presented Councilmember Simonsen with a Certificate of
Election.
Councilmember Simonsen addressed the audience and exchanged seats
at the dais with Councilmember Lambert .
1 : 02 : 00 PM Concluding Remarks by Councilmember Saxton .
The meeting adjourned at 1 : 03 p .m.
