WORK SESSION
THURSDAY, JANUARY 6, 2005
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in a Work Session on
Thursday, January 6, 2005, at 5 : 30 p.m. in Room 326, City Council Office,
City County Building, 451 South State Street.
In Attendance : Council Members Carlton Christensen, Van Turner, Nancy
Saxton, Jill Remington Love, Eric Jergensen, Dave Buhler and Dale
Lambert.

Councilmember Lambert presided at and conducted the meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 5 : 36 p.m.

HIS APPOINTMENT TO THE AIRPORT BOARD .
Councilmember Lambert said Mr. Bodell' s name would be forwarded to
the Consent Agenda for approval .
#3 . 5 : 42 : 39 PM INTERVIEW JOHN BOGART PRIOR TO CONSIDERATION OF HIS
REAPPOINTMENT TO THE LAND USE APPEALS BOARD .
Councilmember Lambert said Mr. Bogart' s name would be forwarded to
the Consent Agenda for approval .

CONSIDERATION OF HER REAPPOINTMENT TO THE MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT.
Councilmember Lambert said Ms . Gamonal' s name would be forwarded to
the Consent Agenda for approval .

REAPPOINTMENT TO THE MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT.
Councilmember Lambert said Ms . Hadley' s name would be forwarded to
the Consent Agenda for approval .

#7 . 6 : 43 : 17 PM RECEIVE A BRIEFING FROM THE SALT LAKE CITY HOUSING
AUTHORITY REGARDING HUD SECTION 8 VOUCHER FUNDING CUTS . View Attachments
Rosemary Kappas, Roger Thompson, David Dobbins, Terry Feveryear and
Doug Sterling briefed the Council from the attached handout .
Councilmember Lambert asked for a straw poll on whether the Council
supported funding the $30, 000 from fund balance . All Council Members
were in favor of $30, 000 coming from fund balance . A discussion was held
on whether the Council should send a joint resolution or a letter to the
Congressional Delegation about housing cuts . All Council Members were in
favor of sending a letter. Councilmember Lambert asked that the letter
be prepared for each Councilmember' s signature. He said Council Members
could sign the letter next Tuesday.
The meeting adjourned at 7 : 40 p.m.
