07/11/2017 - Work Session - Announcements City Council Announcements July i i, 2017 5:31:56 PM Information Needed by Staff A) Trestle Tavern Conditional Use Application Council Member Mendenhall and Council Member Penfold have been approached by local business owners with concerns regarding new State liquor laws conflicting with current zoning in Salt Lake City. Council Members Mendenhall and Penfold expressed an interest in initiating a temporary land use regulation and a text amendment change to address any unintended consequences to the changes of the State liquor laws. Currently, the only alcohol-related use potentially allowed in the Neighborhood Commerical (CN) zoning district is a Dining Club license, which will no longer exist per the State liquor laws. The State will allow those under a dining club license to be converted to either a restaurant or bar license. Per legislative changes and the city permitted land use regulations, the Council would need to process a temporary land use regulation and a text amendment to allow for a social club in the CN zone as a permitted or conditional use. > Is the Council supportive of staff investigating options? Yes, Council Members were in support of Staff exploring options to implement new State liquor laws into City code.
