Tracy Aviary Advisory Board Minutes March 13, 1991 Page Two Budget : Increases - it appears at this point, the Mayor 's office will support converting the hourly aviary attendent position to full-time . Reductions - Gift Shop inventory budget has been decreased $40, 000; no impact will be felt . Security guard costs will be reduced by $12, 000 . Rick explained this can be done in a variety of ways . One possibility is paying for 6-hour coverage rather than 10 . Another, is to hire our own person and set up radio connection with the Police . He explained that, though this was a difficult decision, it was deemed reasonable due to the new fencing and lighting improvements . A proposal was submitted to increase fees in three areas : 1) Change admission rates for adults to $1 . 50 and Children $0 . 50 . 2) Charge weekends March through November . 3) Charge all day Saturday . This should generate $18, 000 . Rick handed out a Quarterly Review of the 1990/91 Budget (Exhibit A) to the board . Sheryl Gillilan suggested adding a percentage column; the board discussed and agreed . Rex Kennedy asked about the Tracy Fund ; Rick said he will also prepare a Quarterly Review for that . He said the Aviary has gotten off to a good breeding start this year, with the Vasa parrot hatchling . Sales: The only significant sale was that of the Port Lincoln parrot .
