The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in Regular Session
on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 7 : 00 p.m. in Room 326, City Council
Office, City County Building, 451 South State.
The following Council Members were present:
Carlton Christensen Charlie Luke Luke Garrott
Jill Remington Love
The following Council Members were absent:
Kyle LaMalfa Stan Penfold Soren Simonsen
Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Edwin Rutan, City
Attorney; David Everitt, Mayor' s Chief of Staff; and Beverly Jones,
Deputy City Recorder; were present.
Councilmember Luke presided at and conducted the meeting.
OPENING CEREMONY
#1 . 7 : 01 : 26 PM Adopting a joint resolution with Mayor Ralph
Becker declaring May 2012 as Stroke Awareness Month in Salt Lake City.

Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Love seconded
to adopt Resolution 24 of 2012, which motion carried, all members
present voted aye.
Councilmember Luke presented the resolution to Dr. Steven
Edgeley.

CONSENT AGENDA 7 : 07 : 51 PM
Councilmember Garrott moved and Councilmember Love seconded to
approve the Consent Agenda, which motion carried, all members present
voted aye .
#1 . RE: Approving the appointment of Isabel Teresa Molina Avella
to the Human Rights Commission for a term extending through December
28, 2015 .
