TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18 , 2008
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in Regular Session on
Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 7 : 00 p.m. in Room 326, Committee Room,
City County Building, 451 South State .
The following Council Members were present:
Carlton Christensen JT Martin Van Turner
Jill Remington Love Soren Simonsen Luke Garrott
Eric Jergensen
Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Edwin Rutan, City
Attorney; Mayor Ralph Becker; and Scott Crandall, Deputy City Recorder;
were present.
Councilmember Love presided at and Councilmember Garrott conducted
the meeting.
OPENING CEREMONY
#1 . 7:02:40 PM The Council led the Pledge of Allegiance .
#2 . 7:03:18 PM Councilmember Turner moved and Councilmember
Christensen seconded to approve the minutes of the Salt Lake City
Council meetings held November 6, 2008 and November 13, 2008, which
motion carried, all members voted aye .

QUESTIONS TO THE MAYOR FROM THE CITY COUNCIL 7:04:04 PM
Councilmember Love asked what kind of feedback the City received
from diversity forums which were recently held. Mayor Becker said the
feedback was good in terms of substantive comments and public
participation. He said after the remaining forums were held all the
information would be compiled and presented to the Council .
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
#1 . RE: 7:10:08 PM Adopting a resolution authorizing the approval
of an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement between Salt Lake County, Utah
and Salt Lake City Corporation regarding the purchase of property known
as the Woodbury Property, and a County payment to Salt Lake City for a
portion of the purchase price in exchange for a conservation or
preservation easement from the City. View Attachments
Councilmember Simonsen moved and Councilmember Jergensen seconded
to adopt Resolution 45 of 2008, which motion carried, all members voted
aye .

#2 . RE: 7:12:00 PM Setting the date of December 9, 2008 at 7 :00
p.m. to accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance
extending the corporate limits of Salt Lake City to include
approximately 330 acres of land generally located between the Jordan
River to approximately 2400 West, and between the existing Salt Lake
City boundary at 1700 North to 2400 North, amending the Northwest
Community Master Plan and the Northpoint and Rose Park Small Area
Plans, and amending the Zoning Map, represented by BNA Realty, pursuant
to Petition No. 400-08-03 . View Attachments

seconded to set the date of December 9, 2008 for a public hearing,
which motion carried, all members voted aye .

p.m. to accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance
rezoning portions of property located at 754 North 300 West, and
amending the zoning map pursuant to Petition No. 400-08-04 . View

Solid Waste Management Facility Budget, as prepared and submitted by
the Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Management Council for Calendar Year
