News Release
New Taxi Cab Providers Selected
Ace Taxi Service and Total Transit have been awarded contracts to provide on-demand taxi cab service
concessions in Salt Lake City.The new providers will begin service in late November.
They were selected in a competitive request for proposal process administered by the Salt Lake City
Department of Airports. The proposals were ranked by a diverse, seven member voting panel. The
proposals were evaluated on six criteria including: quality of vehicles, driver programs, operational plan,
prior general and specialized experience, fees and financial performance. References were also
considered.Five companies submitted proposals and they ranked by the panel as follows:Ace Taxi,Total
Transit Veolia Transportation,Yellow Cab and Ute Cab Company.

well as better opportunities for taxi cab drivers. The new program will enhance service for those with
special needs, and will greatly increase the proportion of hybrid/alternative fueled taxis in the City.
Customers will experience significant benefits from the new taxi cab program once service starts," says
