TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 , 2010
The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in Regular Session on Tuesday,
September 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Room 315, City Council Chambers, City County
Building, 451 South State.
The following Council Members were present:
Stan Penfold Van Turner Luke Garrott
Jill Remington Love Soren Simonsen
The following Council Members were absent:
JT Martin Carlton Christensen
Mayor Ralph Becker; Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Edwin Rutan,
City Attorney; David Everitt, Mayor's Chief of Staff; and Chris Meeker, City
Recorder; were present.
Councilmember Love presided at and conducted the meeting.
OPENING CEREMONY
#1. 7:02:04 PM The Council led the Pledge of Allegiance.
#2. 7:02:07 PM Councilmember Simonsen moved and Councilmember Penfold
seconded to approve the minutes for the Salt Lake City Council meetings held August
17, 2010 and September 7, 2010, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
#1. 7:02:22 PM RE: Accept public comment regarding the issuance of up to
$12,000,000 principal amount of Water and Sewer Revenue Bonds, Series 2010 of the
City to finance all or a portion of the cost of acquiring and constructing certain
improvements, facilities and property that will be part of the City's water, sewer
and stormwater system, including, but not limited to the replacement of the Orange
Street sewer trunk line and various other sewer improvements and the potential
economic impact that such projects will have on the private sector. View Attachments

Action Item. See below.
POTENTIAL ACTION ITEM
#1. RE: Adopting a resolution authorizing the issuance and confirming the
sale of up to $12,000, 000 aggregate principal amount of Water and Sewer Revenue
Bonds, Series 2010 of the City; authorizing the execution and delivery of certain
documents relating to such bonds; and providing for related matters. View

Councilmember Garrott moved and Councilmember Penfold seconded to close the
public meeting and adopt Resolution 43 of 2010, which motion carried, all members
present voted aye.

7:04:52 PM COMMENTS TO THE CITY COUNCIL
Allen Sanderson spoke in opposition of the large new yard waste recycling can.
He said he composted and the can was of no use. He said not all citizens needed the
same size cans and residents needed more options. Nancy Saxton apologized for her
comments at the previous City Council meeting regarding the soccer park project. She
said the Tribune had retracted their story and she thanked them. She asked the City
to be transparent. Cindy Cromer spoke regarding accessory dwelling units.
The meeting adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
