The following Commission Members were present:
Eric Kenney,Erik Lopez,Marti Woolford,Mallory Bateman,Anne Cannon,Diya Oommen,
Daniel Cairo
The following Commission Members were absent:
Neil Vander Most,Elisabeth Morrey
Present City Staff:

The meeting was called to order at 5:35 pm.
A.Call to Order:

Commissioner Lopez welcomed everyone to the meeting.
B.Public Comment:
1.Comments to the Commission.(Comments are taken on items pertaining to the
work of the Redistricting Commission.Comments are limited to two minutes per
person.For Public Meeting Rules,please refer to this agenda’s intro page 1.)

C.Approval of Minutes:
1.The Redistricting Advisory Commission will approve the meeting minutes of
March 31,2022.
Minutes:
The minutes were approved unanimously.

•Euclid,Fairpark and Ballpark Neighborhoods Visit Report and Discussion
•New Maps from Commissioners
Minutes:
Commissioner Woolford reviewed neighborhood tours,Commissioners either visited the areas
personally or reviewed the maps provided.
Commissioner Lopez reviewed the following maps:
•Daniel Love –City Council map
•Neil Vander Most –Something totally different
•Chris Jones –City Council Districts
•Eric Kenny –Maps 2,3 5 &42 (review)map numbers
•Darin Mano –City Council District Map
•Nicole Salazar-Hall –City Council Districts
Commissioner Cannon reviewed the map she created titled CC Adjustment by Hassan
Abdi and the Community Councils she had discussed boundaries with.She stated her goal
was to keep the community council boundaries in as few districts as possible while also
keeping the other communities of interest together.
Commissioners discussed:
•Boundaries for the Districts 1 and 2
•Definition of communities of interest
•The different community councils,their boundaries and how to limit the number of
districts community councils were split into
•Adjusting the district boundaries to accommodate community councils and communities
of interest
•Whittling the number of maps down for presentation to the City Council.
•The following maps submitted by Neil Vander Most while stating why/why they did not
support each of the maps:
◦RD2022-01 by Eric Kenney –All Commissioners present as well as Commissioner
Vander Most did not support this map due to physicals boundaries between
proposed Districts
◦RD2022-02 by Eric Kenney –Commissioners expressed satisfaction with what the
map reflected.
◦RD2022-03 by Eric Kenney –Commissioners agreed this map should be moved
forward
◦RD2022-04 by Eric Kenney –A majority of the Commissioners recommended the
map move ahead.
◦Community Council Boundaries by Eric Kenney –Commissioners voted to move this
map forward.
◦Four Change Map by Neil Vander Most –Commissioner determined to put this map
on hold to allow for adjustments to be made to the boundaries
◦Politely Compact by Anne Cannon –Commissioners determined to remove the map
from the list as it did not meet the eligibility requirement and Commissioner Cannon
would work on the CC Adjustment map (discussed earlier in the meeting)for the
April 7,meeting.

Minutes:
Commissioner Lopez reviewed the maps listed,some of which were reviewed during
the previous discussion,and those that were determined to not move forward.
Commissioner Cannon asked if the maps discussed during the meeting would be available for
the Commission prior to the April 7,meeting for review .
Cindy Lou Trishman reviewed the maps the Commissioners had listed for further review
and stated she would forward the list of maps to the Commission for further review after the
the close of the meeting.
Commissioner stated they would like a list of the 17 that were on the agenda,discussed or
presented to the Commission.They determined if additional maps were to be presented for
review on April 7,the maps would need to be forwarded to the Commission by 4:30 pm on
April 7.
F.New Business:
•Spreadsheet of District Builder maps submitted between March 31,2022 to
April 1,2022
Minutes:
Commissioner Lopez stated the spreadsheet was forwarded to the Commission in the meeting
packet for review.
