the City & County Building, third floor corridor.
The following Council Members were present:
Victoria Petro-Eschler, Alejandro Puy, Chris Wharton, Ana Valdemoros, Darin Mano, Daniel
Dugan, Amy Fowler
Present Legislative leadership:

Present Administrative leadership:
Mayor Erin Mendenhall
Present City Staff:
Linda Sanchez – City Council Staff, Cindy Lou Trishman – City Recorder, Priscilla Tuuao – City
Council Staff, Ben Kolendar – Economic Development Department Director, Lorena Riffo
Jenson – Economic Development Department Deputy Director
Council Member Valdemoros presided at and conducted the meeting.
The meeting was called to order at 12:15 pm.

Living Traditions Luncheon
Minutes:
A casual luncheon to welcome Consuls and other diplomats representing various countries, and
to kick off The Living Traditions Festival was held.
Council Member Valdemoros welcomed attendees and introduced other Council Members,
Mayor Mendenhall, and members of the Arts Council. The Council Member then raised
the following points:
•Purpose of the living traditions festival
•Diverse makeup of the current City Council
•City’s history of being a welcoming City
•Locations of different activities and events available during the festival
•Encouraged diverse communities to communicate with the Council about policy
Mayor Mendenhall welcomed community members to City Hall and thanked City Council for
their work on the luncheon. The Mayor explained that the Mayor’s office is open to the
community. Mayor Mendenhall was then presented a gift from the Mayor of Cusco, Peru.
Taylor Knuth (Deputy Director of the Arts Council) thanked the City Council and the Mayor
for their support, and introduced the Living Legacy Video Series.
A video about the Ukrainian Egg People was presented after which Members of City Council
and other guests introduced themselves and a traditional Argentine dance was performed.
Meeting adjourned at 1:30 pm
